If there were more competition
I’d be out of business,
but my hot dog stand
is doing well down here.
The people who bump in
to me are very hungry,
ecstatic to find a vendor.
Invariably, they ask the way out.
But I’m a business man,
and tell them I’m lost myself.
Colin James has poems forthcoming in Moon Milk Review and Monday Night. He is a great admirer of the Scottish landscape painter, John Mackenzie.
